About the Author
My Passion
Character matters, and I learned that at a very young age. My name is Paul C. Dean and I was born and raised in the tiny little midwest town of Donnelsville, Ohio. I've been writing since I was a teenager and I've published over 500 of the estimated 1,500 poems I've written over the past thirty-five years. I've always believed in giving back to the community, and having my own platform here that enables me to start doing even more will be, without question, my greatest achievement.
My Poetry
Words matter, and my words are meant to evoke an emotional response to what we all may be going through in life. It’s not always pretty, and it may not always be appealing to everyone, but the imagery I try to conjure in my writing has saved my own life on more than one occasion, which may be the only purpose it was ever meant to serve. Should it stir an emotion with those who read it, then hopefully it can also convey some degree of empathy for all those who share this planet with us in the process.
My Purpose
Actions matter, and my goal is to start giving even more back, starting right here and right now. I am pledging 10% of every dollar earned through our website, book sales, events and products. My goal is to continue increasing those contributions by an additional 5% or more every year until I reach retirement. My total target contributions during that span is to reach $250,000 for as many wonderful causes as we possibly can, for empathy remains the greatest asset we own and still remains the greatest gift you can offer someone.
